Hello May!

April was a stormy month here in Texas! We're very fortunate that we've only had hail damage to Robbie's car (no broken windows or cracked paint, but  lots of dings). Others in neighboring communities had much larger hail that broke out windows in cars and homes! There have been tornadoes and flooding in parts of Texas as well. So thankful that this first week of May has been nice and sunny!

Robbie's settling in to his new job, and we're enjoying having lunch together several times a week as his new office is only eight minutes away! As usual I made some adaptions as April progressed, but I feel pretty good about focusing on my 2016 goals (MOVE, LEARN, TEACH, SCRAP, CLEAN) throughout the month.

MOVE - I did ok on my exercise, riding the stationary bike a good bit and working out with my personal trainer four times. However, I decided that it was time to hire a lawn care service to do the routine yard maintenance.

I did get in a little adventure early in the month when Mama and I took a trip down to southeast Texas to attend the 90th birthday party of a friend from the church we attended for many years. It was a great trip with lots of visiting . . . and a FUN time helping my niece Natashia paint a poster board at midnight!

On the drive home, we stopped at the Lufkin Zoo and enjoyed a nice stroll around.

LEARN - I read nine books in April and tried out a new card-making technique (using Kiwi Lane templates).

This month I want to caught up on the materials and my pages for the FIT 2016 workshop. I'm also very slowly working through the  materials in the  Teach What You Do e-course.

TEACH - I taught illustrated Bible journaling workshops at Scrappin' Goodtime and Personal Scrapbook. I've taught numerous Intro class over the past year, but I continue to be blessed anew by each group of participants.

Here's a short video of me doing a demonstration at the Demos & Devotionals Bible Journaling "crop" - this is straight from the iPhone with no editing, just a little glimpse of me teaching. (A huge thanks to class participant Rachell for taking the video!)

SCRAP - While I didn't do much personal scrapbooking, I did complete that 66-page scrapbook-for-hire project. It was a FUN project - here's a peek at some of the pages (which I snapped quickly before it was delivered, so not the best photo quality). There were lots of photos and memorabilia capturing this young man's four years of college.

During those four years, his brother and sister both were married, and I especially enjoyed creating these beautiful pages.

This month I've actually worked on two other college albums, which I completed and delivered yesterday. I'm hoping to make some progress on my own scrapbooking goals as well as catch up on my digital workflow the rest of the month. And I still need to process and share more photos from our Arizona Road Trip.

CLEAN -The project to move all the collectibles from the current Toy Room to the new one is ongoing . . . slowly since Robbie's working some extra hours as he gets things set up at the new job.

I did do a little decluttering in the laundry room and am most happy with the results in these drawers.

Did you accomplish your goals for April? What are your plans for May?

Looks like you were active in all areas - good for you. I found April to be productive too, but am looking forward to more play time in May.

The scrapbook you completed for a customer is wonderful, and I'm sure they were very happy with it. You get more done than almost anyone I know!

Looks like Texas got too much water & Alberta not enough - ah such is the power of Mother Nature.

Your customer must be sooooo pleased with the work you did on the scrapbooks.

April was not at 100% for me, but I most hopeful for May.

What've lot you have fitted in, in just a month - I am super-impressed! And a lovely scrapbook of memories for someone else too. Wishing you a quieter May, weather wise. That hail sounded ferocious ...
