Welcome! I'm Melissa Gross, a dynamic and interactive teacher and speaker called to lead and encourage Christian women in their walk with the Lord through classes, workshops and retreats incorporating Bible study, devotionals, illustrated Bible journaling, paper crafting and mixed media projects that merge faith and art bringing God’s Word to life so you can find renewed excitement to dive into the Word, use your creative gifts, and apply the Truth as you draw closer to the Lord and serve Him in your everyday life. This site is where I share my everyday adventures, Bible Journaling pages, scrapbook layouts, handmade cards, and other crafty projects, as well as information on my upcoming workshops and events. I also post photos, ramble about books I'm reading, stuff I'm organizing, and other FUN bits & pieces of my wonderful life.

Memorandum Monday - Fantastix

One of the techniques that I shared at the recent Demos & Devotionals Bible Journaling "crops" I hosted is how to use stencils and Gelatos to add words and illustrations in the margins or across a Bible or hymnal page.

I'm using a variety of Clear Scraps stencils like this one.

After taping the stencil down with a small piece of washi tape, I add a little Gelato inside the stencil and use a sponge dauber to rub the Gelato around.

The sponge daubers work fairly well, as you can see on these pages illustrated by a couple of the crop participants.

However, this weekend I sampled a new product (Fantastix Ink Applicators) for the first time. These small applicators are perfect for getting into the small spaces in these stencils! They come in a brush tip and a bullet tip. I'm excited to add some of these to my tools for Bible journaling and other stenciling projects!

Joining in today with Sian's Memorandum Monday meme sharing something NEW (something you did over the weekend FOR THE FIRST TIME or something you learned and DIDN'T KNOW BEFORE).

Now that does look like a handy little tool. I really like the sunburst on the page.

I have some gelatos on order and I can't wait to try them. Now I might have to look out for these too. I love it when I learn something new on a Monday. Thanks Melissa :)

Have a good week

How very crafty. Gelatos - I think these would be better for me than the ice cream type of Gelato. I like the joy stamped across the music sheet.

I have some Gelatos but they haven't seen any action in a long time. Need to get them out of the drawer and onto the desk. I've never seen the brush tips, but have used the bullet tip Fantast/x's.
