Digital Layouts In My Digital Workflow

At the beginning of each new month, I take time to work through my Digital Workflow checklist, which includes uploading photos from our phones and cameras, purging, rating, tagging and ordering prints of the photos I want to scrap. I also add photos to our digital frame, sort through the previous month's memorabilia, and save my blog posts to a file I format for a blog book at the end of the year.

Of course, the best laid plans often go awry, and I'm currently several months behind on my workflow. So, as I'm working to catch up, I've added a new item to my workflow - create digital layouts with some of the photos each month. This reduces the number of printed photos I'll be adding to my storage binders and helps me with my goal of scrapping some of this year's photos before the year is out.

Here's a look at several digital layouts I created with photos from our unexpected trip to Ohio this past July.

I have several other stories and photos along with some pieces of memorabilia that I want to scrap from this trip, so I've ordered prints of those photos and slipped them in to my storage binders. Slowly but surely, I'm catching up with my 2014 digital workflow!

Nice to see you doing this year's photos - the cowboys vs browns page made me smile. Glad you have learned to tolerate the mixed team marriage ;)

Wow, your digital pages are every bit as layered and detailed as your paper and glue ones - what a varied and great collection. I am trying to find a system for my photos and memory-keeping too. I think I might need to do it more than once a month.

Your digital layouts are awesome. I keep saying I'm going to try digital, but somehow never seem to find the time to learn. I know it's one of those things that if I'd just get started, it would probably be easier than I am imagining.

I'm so impressed with the organization of your workflow. Although I keep track of a lot, it's not anywhere near as organized as yours. Like Alexa, I think I'll try to institute a monthly procedure. Starting fresh in 2015, and hope to catch up with 2014! I love the Ohio layout. Those photo strips are great! (And so is the title.)

You are so very organised! Love the layouts you have created here. I do try to upload my photos from my camera every month and get them printed but that is about as far as I go! At least this year as I am doing a monthly project life the photos on my phone are also getting printed and used as I decided that I would mostly use those for the monthly photos.

I'd love to be that organised, you've made me want to do some digi again.

I had to catch up msyelf- I got way behind this past year but caught up before the last retreat. . and am now working nearly weekly like I prefer. Maybe next time, we'll both be working from our computers!

Love these digital layouts! Do you find dig easier when you have that many photos to include? I always seem to think it must be easier- compared to figure out sizes and prepping for print and then cutting- but I could be totally wrong since I don't do paper layouts.

Great layouts Melissa and I am definitely impressed by and in awe of your organization. I haven't done a single thing scrapbooking or art journaling related since... the end of August probably!

Wow, you are really working that digital. Nice job - and I am envious of your organizational skills too.
