Scrapping This Year . . . This Year

If you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you know that I do not scrap chronologically. I simply scrap whatever inspires me at the moment. This year, however, I am challenging myself to scrap some current photos throughout the year so that I'll have a good start on my 2014 chronological album and record some of our stories more "in the moment."

Here's a look at a few pages showcasing photos & stories from this year. This first one is a digital layout I created using a template provided in the Stashbusters Anonymous workshop earlier this year.

Journaling reads: Stopped at a flea market on our way to Tyler. These bird feeders made from plates, vases & teapots caught my eye! Might be FUN to make one!

For my layout showcasing photos from New Year's Day, I included journaling in the embellishment clusters.

I really like the way this two page spread turned out - such a happy FUN start to the year!

I actually used one of the leftover photos from New Year's Day on this next layout to help me document how I was feeling five months into the year.
Journaling reads: This year I'm really striving to make healthy choices and lose weight. I had gotten in the habit of choosing something quick (& unhealthy) for breakfast, so Robbie's been bringing me breakfast in bed before he goes to work during the week (and special breakfasts on the weekends). I love how he spoils me and does special things for me!

I'm enjoying recording some of our 2014 stories as the year goes along. I know many memory keepers use the Project Life (or similar) products to scrap each week or month as the year goes along, however I've not been inspired to create that way and am the type of person who would feel pressured to "keep up" all the time. Since scrapbooking is my hobby and the thing I do for FUN and personal fulfillment, I'm glad there are so many ways to document our lives and that we can each choose what works for us.

Robbie sure is a keeper; breakfast in bed regularly---can't beat that! Love the way you've used the same and similar papers in the last two layouts to create two lovely sets of pages.

Look at you, dabbling in digi! :) Love the button flowers. This is such a great reminder for those of us who don't scrap in chrono order. I've been scrapping a lot of recent photos lately, too!

I'm like you: I don't scrapbook chronologically and I don't like the thought of having to "keep up", but it is good to see how much fun you had recording some 2014 events

Same here, I scrap whatever photos catch my eye. Because Simon & I don't have children it's easier not to get caught up in scrapping in order.

You layouts always make me smile ... Gorgeous

That waffle does look tempting - one of the few things that didn't happen on my trip to the US, it was planned for the day after the crash. I love hearing that Robbie spoils you - everyone should be spoiled occasionally.

good idea to scrap while it is fresh, well done on the fitness regime.
