Colorful Dallas Blooms

Last week, Ellyn and I headed to the Dallas Arboretum to spend the morning practicing our photography skills during the Dallas Blooms. It was one of the few times I've ever made a date to do something just for the creativity of it . . . and it was a blast.

It was the perfect day - sunshine, seventy degrees, a light breeze. I snapped 166 photos in two hours! However, one of my favorite photos was taken by Ellyn - she didn't realize it until she was scrolling through her photos later, but she perfectly captured our outing in this shot of me taking a photo with her shadow taking a photo, too.

There was truly a rainbow of color throughout the arboretum - here are some of my favorites.

I'll be sharing more photos from our outing soon, along with how I'm using some of these photos as inspiration for crafting.

As you can see, spring has definitely arrived here in Texas. Has it arrived in your neighborhood?

Gorgeous photos-particularly on a cold, gray morning in Missouri! I love the one of the red and pink tulips!

Your photos are such a welcome sight! It's wet and dark here and we are supposed to be going to watch a big Rugby match this afternoon..I'm going to need my thermal underwear, so your pictures have given me hope that Spring might be on its way

What beautiful shots of the flowers! And I love the one of you taking the photo too - great the way Ellyn's shadow is also in the photo.

I would say that spring has definitely arrived in Dallas. Great pics, and I suppose you'll be scrapping that first one for sure!

My mojo is SO SO SO low these days...your photos have really helped!! I'm going to direct my other Midwestern friends to your blog!!! :)

Gorgeous photos, and what beautiful colors! There was no sign of spring when we left Rochester, but here in Ashland, Oregon the spring flowers and trees are blooming. Just lovely. By the time we get home, hopefully the same will be true in New York.
